The Dragonfly Journey
The Dragonfly journey began seven years ago in July 2017 when we (Tom and Bec) discovered a run-down traditional B&B for sale, the “Edenholme Grange”. At the time we were both professional accountants, Tom with a passion for unique property investment opportunities and Bec with a flair for interior design.
We took the plunge, leaving our day jobs behind us, and moved into the mansion with our two boys, Huxley (8 at the time) and Nate (6 at the time). We rebranded the old girl to “The Dragonfly Inn” driven by our vision, that has now become our tagline, to create a “heritage accommodation with a fresh new edge”. Yes, the name is inspired by the Gilmore Girls - Bec is a big fan of the show and was inspired by Lorelai's own journey of renovating a historic guest house in need of renewed love and attention.
With a lot of initial blood sweat and tears, we lovingly stripped her back to the beautiful, historic bare bones that she is, and breathed a new life into her, bringing her into the modern era, with our hopes of making her more relevant and relatable to the hospitality market, and ultimately ensuring that she will keep going the distance by being a well maintained and impeccably groomed Lady of Launceston.

Our Commitment to Responsible Tourism
At the heart of Responsible Tourism is a growing need for businesses to operate in an environmentally conscious manner. We are committed to integrating environmentally sustainable practices into our business operations in an effort to ‘tread more lightly’ and create sustainable growth and longevity for the benefit of our business and our community.
As part of this commitment, we actively participate the Tourism Emissions Reduction Program, with the goal of systematically tracking our yearly carbon emissions to track our carbon footprint and identify key areas to focus our efforts, through the development of an action plan.
